This series came about originally due to the inspiration of the artist Hilma Af Klint. She created a series of large scale abstracts with what looked like small buildings in a checkerboard style. After viewing these I began to explore creating these small buildings. Eventually I became aware that they were all isolated. So I called the series “Isolation”. It was then that I realized it was about me. And how isolated I felt living out in a rural area in Massachusetts.
