From 2018 through 2023 I lived in Tucson Arizona. The Sonoran desert is an amazing place with a variety of plants that are not found anywhere else. During the time I lived there I created hundreds of mono prints using the plants I found while hiking in the desert. Every day I would go out with my scissors and a plastic zip lock, bring them home and flatten them in a book and then print with them. The following collages are just a few of the many prints I created. These mono prints are a combination of the local grasses with the mountains as a backdrop. The scenery in Tucson is pretty spectacular. These were The Catalina Foothills located right behind my house. I will always miss that scenery. There is really nothing else quite like it. But the heat in summer was more than we could stand. I will always be grateful for the time spent living out there and the wonderful art I created.
